Great tea and atmosphere. Yuja mini cake is sweet that goes well with tea. Matcha latte is not like viral matcha cafe out there. It's deep and creamy. I like how they have a service even though it's a cafe.

beautiful and calming space, totally can see why it went viral. but drinks were disappointingly mid. sweet corn matcha was good but even when ordered as half sweet i can't taste the matcha. hojicha was solid but a bit grainy. for a tea room, i just thought their matcha would be be stronger. also, a note and suggestion about the service. i get very disappointed to be served drinks in plastic cups when i dine in. it cheapens the experience when the space is so beautiful (but some other people got glass cups and metal straws). also when the cups aren't filled all the way with drink. would be suchhh a cute idea if they put their drinks in the ceramics they are selling!

my absolute favorite matcha & hojicha spotβ€”though the sweet corn syrup may feel unfamiliar, it’s a must try. its contrast in flavor pops in the sweet corn matcha, whereas the sweet corn hojicha feels more complimentary. tearoom by calmplex feels like a little speakeasy cafe hidden behind a ceramic studio. they unfortunately do not have free wifi, but it’s a great place to hang out or read.

The one thing I didn’t like is that there is a one drink per person requirement per person even though the pots of tea are sharing sized. Between the three of us we shared two pots of tea and a matcha but we didn’t feel rushed and were able to sit and chat for upwards of two hours. The balyocha was very high quality, the charcoal roasted tie guan yin was not high enough roast in my opinion. We also tried the sweet corn houjicha which was interesting and tasted like movie popcorn, not something I’m as familiar with. Having good quality tea in local pottery was a cool novelty as well as the fact that the tearoom was inside of the pottery studio itself. I was curious about this small sunroom (pictured last), as it seems very nice to have tea in, but I was unsure of its purpose.

The location is a bit confusing β€” the entrance is through a pottery shop, which can throw you off at first. But the place itself is very cozy, and the staff are extremely friendly. I never liked matcha before, but the white chocolate matcha latte completely won my heart.β™₯️ β˜•οΈπŸ’š
